Joan is a former BAAF Trainer Consultant, Social Worker, Adoption Social Worker, Panel Chair, Disruption Chair, Parent and Foster carer and applies both her personal and professional experience to her training with a strong focus on the Childs Lived Experience

Who should attend?

This training will be applicable for adoptive parents caring for brother and sister groups, as well as professionals supporting them in this task. 

What are the objectives?

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Understand how the child’s early year’s experiences have shaped their context of the family
  • Have considered the sibling dynamic in context of child’s lived experience.
  • Have considered how best to manage competing needs of a sibling group and presenting behaviour
  • Have considered different therapeutic services and if it is right for you and your family
